A holly Christmas tag

Hello I am sharing my 2nd guest designer post today for the lovely Shery over at STAMPlorations We are half way through the current challenge of

with this optional sketch
I decided to make a Christmas tag to add to one of the many presents which will be sitting under our tree very soon.
and traced around the outside to make a tag.
I then used gold embossing paste  added an eyelet too

A Frozen 4th birthday

It's hard to believe but my darling granddaughter Daisy was 4 on Saturday and she celebrated with a "Frozen" party. It was such a wonderful day and she had a party with her friends in a local leisure centre followed by a family tea party at her home.
I know that I teased you with a sneak peek of the cake I made so here it is on the table at the party
There were 24 littles one and this was the calm before the storm in the party room at the centre
The place settings my daughter bought were delightful
and here are the kids enjoying their feast including yummy fresh fruit kebabs for pudding.
They enjoyed pass the parcel too
Daisy blew out her candles with glee.
After her party with her friends we had another celebration at her home with the family which included more lovely food and more candle blowing

I managed to get some really great quality models from Amazon, the perfect size to use for a cake and for Daisy to have afterwards to play with.
I cut lots of snowflakes out of icing and made a frozen river.

I also made some snowballs and created a snowy scene.

For her card I needed a focal and as I was about to throw away the packaging from the models I spotted some Elsa and Anna images I could use.
I also decided to recreate the colours for the background of my card using Fresco paints.
I used a brayer to achieve the colours and textures
I made my focal...adding the image which I fussy cut out to my brayered backing card.

This is her card. I hand stamped the sentiment and added lots of die cuts.

I had a tiny piece of packaging left so I made a tag using paints and a snowflake stamp.
which looked like this

and here is the card and pressie all wrapped..
I would like to enter my card and tag into the following challenges;

Laughing, smiling, loving

I have blogged for over 7 years and I still really enjoy sharing my posts. For me blogging is a way of documenting my creative journey as well as the happy moments in my life. Blogging to me should be be a joyful and a positive experience. It does not for one moment mean that I lead the perfect carefree life, that I am never ill, that we don't have sadness and tragedies, but I choose not to focus on them. I believe that if one person who reads my blog leaves feeling just a little bit brighter then I have achieved my goal. This is my little place to smile.

Today is my weekly dose of design team inspiration for Visible Image and I have been working with some of their awesome older quote stamps. Today I have used the laugh louder stamp.

My nearby ponds and parks make me do all 3 things every time I walk there.

laugh (a little louder)... these runner ducks are hilarious as the move as one..they appeared a few weeks ago and have everyone in stitches!

smile (a little bigger)
and love (a little deeper)
when I see these gorgeous autumnal scenes
For my card I made an inky background using the wrinkle free technique and stamped and embossed the words.
I added some die cut leaves
which I also stamped with the words from the Create to escape set and I gave some a crunchy texture using crackle paint.

I used the cosmic skies stencil with some bright multicolour inks too. They give a lovely random spotty pattern
and add to the depth of my inky background

Here is my finished card

It's a lovely inspirational stamp I really love this typeface.

Holly for Christmas

Good morning  it's my turn to share some more inspiration for our November stencils challenge over at Country View. For my first card I shared a snowflake card here. I used more contemporary colours of blue and silver

For today's card I have gone very traditional.
I love reds and greens and to me Holly epitomizes the spirit of Christmas
I used one of Tim Holtz' traditional Santa stamps....to me this is the image of Father Christmas 😃 I added some colour with distress markers
and used these Christmassy distress oxides for my background

I added holly stencilling...
I didn't want to cover up all the background so I kept my design very simple. The sentiment is also Tim Holtz'
You still have until 30 November to enter our Stencils challenge...I really hope that you can join us.

Remember that you can enter as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. Your make can be anything creative! You may even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.

Toadstools and magic in the New Forest.

A couple of weeks ago my Hb and I took Daisy out to the New Forest whilst her Mummy, Daddy and Jack had some time at home. We went to try to find the pannaging pigs with no success. However we did find other treasures...
Lots of New Forest ponies..and cattle too.

Lots of lovely pine cones to collect,
tree stumps to jump on
and we also spotted some amazing toadstalls.
We explained very carefully to Daisy that they must never be touched as they could be poisonous but we spent some fun time spotting different ones hidden in the undergrowth.
I told Daisy that they always remind me of fairies.

Daisy was fascinated and we played a little game of who could find the best one.
We awarded the prize to this one Daisy found
What cuties 😊
...we spent some time admiring all the markings on it.
It was such a lovely afternoon.

So I decided to make a Moment for my art journal and also to enter a couple of challenges using that magical afternoon for inspiration. I also wanted to use some new card which the lovely Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps kindly gave me at Ally Pally to test drive . I have not had the time til now to play with it.
The first thing I wanted in my magical fairy scene was a moon for some atmosphere. All the stamps I used are by Lavinia. I white embossed the moon.
I chose some ink spray colours which reminded me of our visit.
I then got very inky spraying on my colours and drying until I was happy with my background. The Multifarious card stood up to all the water beautifully and did not warp. I was very impressed! My verdict, yes a really good quality card for wet inking and stamping and embossing.
I wanted to make my own forest, the only Lavinia tree stamps I own are the half trees so I used the branch part of these to stamp with.
I then just got busy stamping up my little fairy scene which of course had to features mushrooms and leaves!
Here it is
and a few close ups

My art journal page was made for the following challenges;

Lavinia on Face Book November; dark and mysterious
